Justice Minister explodes under Pressure
The Justice Minister Miss Anna Richardson lost her composure on Friday when she was faced with disgruntle Justice Workers and their Unions about their work book and their demands for a meeting to address a written proposal submitted to the Minister a long time ago. The Union board member remarked that everything in justice works according to federal law and the Function book which is their outline of job description and what benefits they are entitled to by law, is what they are trying to secure. The Union says the reason for the support and the strong showing of the staff members were to send a strong message that it was time for the Ministry to handle this important issue which have been over looked for ten years now. The Minister was less than diplomatic when she buckled under pressure and began shouting at the workers in a tone which surprised everyone and was unbecoming of anyone holding such high office.
The Minister has since apologized for her outburst in front of the workers and for the way she handled herself in public. But according to some justice workers, her apologies comes too little too late since they have already lost respect for the Minister. The NAPB Police Union Treasurer Ms. Janice Philips who was on “View Point” Friday, says in her years working for the Justice Ministry, she has never witness such disrespect from a Minister of Justice in such a fashion. The Minister was scheduled to meet with the Unions late Friday afternoon. It would be interesting to see if Minister Richardson would be able to make amends for her attitude when she sits with stake holders to mull over their demands on behalf of the workers.
