Guyanese Association elects new board
Pledged to working with St. Maarten in the reconstruction of the Island after the hurricane.
The Guyanese Association has been busy establishing itself in this community in an attempt to foster togetherness among them as a people of Guyanese heritage but also to conduct voluntary service to this community in which they live. The Association has just elected its new board and confirmed that they have officially been established and registered since 2015.
Although they have an active membership of some 40 strong, it is not a true reflection of the amount of Guyanese Nationals living on the Island. The president of the Association Mr Malcolm Mickle says they are doing everything possible to expand its membership among the many Guyanese Nationals living here. One of their primary goals he said is to partner with NGOs and organizations to assist with the continued development and rebuilding of this beautiful Island which they now called home.
