Formation of new government requires further extension..
The governor of St. Maarten has extended the formation process of a new interim government for the Country until the 22nd of December 2017. Governor E.B. Holiday in a release to the press declared that once again he met with the formateure Mr. Franklyn Meyers and received an update on the pending points of the formation. There was an extension granted before, from December 04th to December 15th
The reason for the further extension was given consideration since the background screening of candidate ministers is still ongoing. The formateur is allowed to request more time to complete his commission to form a government, when the screening of candidates for Ministers are not completed. Therefore, after an assessment of the situation by His Excellency Governor Holiday, that request for extension to present the final report was granted until the 22nd of December 2017.
