Governor Holiday receives CEO of (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin LaRocque

Harbour View – On December 14, 2018, His Excellency Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) payed a courtesy visit to the Governor of Sint Maarten His Excellency Eugene B. Holiday. During this visit cooperation in the Caribbean region and the role and position of country Sint Maarten within CARICOM and its organizations was discussed.

Governor Holiday emphasized that throughout the region the shared cultural and geographic characteristics and shared challenges provide a good base for cooperation and therefore for the wellbeing of the Caribbean people.

The CARICOM Secretary General who is a national of Dominica, was appointed in 2011 and is the seventh Secretary General of the Caribbean Community. He is firmly committed to deepening integration within CARICOM and advancing cooperation within the wider Caribbean area.
