Lee’s ordered to vacate Road Side Grill…
The Owner of Lee’s Road Side Grill Mr. Leonel Halley has been served notice to vacate the popular dinner spot in Simpson Bay and according to him this request is not only unjust but mean spirited.
The local businessman has been conducting business in the same location for over thirty years and employs some thirty persons. Over the years he claims to have been fighting for his survival and to keep his business afloat despite efforts to have him removed unjustly.
In this video he tells his story of what he has been going through and to this day there is no settlement. He is prepared to remain at the location until government can find an amicable solution. The Local business man said no one has even offered him any type of compensation for him to consider relocating his business elsewhere; they seem to expect him to throw his hand up and surrender but he is not prepared to do so but is willing to fight to the end for his St. Maarten people to be treated fairly and his workers to continue to feed their families.
The Company he has been fighting with in court has plans to develop the area into a mega marina port and the only thing in the way of their plans is The Popular Lee’ Grill and they seem bent on forcing the local business man out of his location in which he has been operating for almost 35 years.
